The Dangbei MP1 Max is a 4K laser projector built for the living room, not just the basement. Its hybrid light engine is a triple laser projector design with an LED alongside, and together they reach 3,100 ISO lumens: the picture stays watchable with the blinds open, and once the lights go down it behaves like a proper laser home theatre projector. Colour coverage is rated at 110% of BT.2020 with a Delta E below 1 out of the box, so skin tones and team colours land where they should without a calibration session.

It is also a Google TV projector in the full sense. Google TV runs on the projector itself, with the officially licensed Netflix app plus YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+ and the rest of the Google Play catalogue. No streaming stick, no Chromecast workaround. The remote has Google Assistant voice search, and Google Cast handles mirroring from a phone or laptop. Two HDMI 2.1 inputs, one with eARC, take a console, a Blu-ray player or a soundbar.

Setup takes about a minute. Dangbei's InstanPro AI runs autofocus, auto keystone, screen fit and obstacle avoidance every time you move it, and the built-in stand rotates 360 degrees and tilts 135 degrees, so a shelf, a coffee table or a tripod all work without a separate mount. An eye-protection sensor dims the beam when someone walks in front of the lens.

This is a projector with speakers you can actually use: two 12 W drivers in a 750 cc chamber with a bass reflex port that reaches down to 45 Hz, with Dolby Audio and DTS:X decoding. That covers a movie night; for a dedicated room, eARC passes everything to your own system. HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG are supported, MEMC smooths motion for sports, and Blu-ray 3D works with active glasses. At 5.6 kg with the included EPP carrying case it moves from room to room or up to the cottage, but it is a full-size unit, not a pocket projector.

Is it a native 4K projector?
It projects 4K UHD, 3840 x 2160, using a 0.47-inch DMD chip that reaches that resolution by pixel shifting. Dangbei calls it 4K UHD, and so do we. On a 100-inch screen the difference from a native 4K chip is not something you will see from the couch.
Is a 3000 lumen projector enough for daytime?
The MP1 Max is rated at 3,100 ISO lumens, which is among the brightest in its class, and it holds up in a room with the blinds open. It is a daylight projector in the practical sense, not a sunlight one: direct sun on the screen still wins.
Is it a good projector for bright room use?
Yes, with one tip: pair it with a plain white or standard ALR screen. Dangbei's eye-protection sensor and AI brightness adjustment do the rest.
Is this a Netflix projector out of the box?
Yes. It runs Google TV with the officially licensed Netflix app, plus YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+ and the rest of Google Play. No stick, no sideloading.
Do I ever need to replace a lamp?
No. The light source is a sealed triple laser and LED engine, so there is no bulb to change. Dangbei does not publish an hour rating for this model, so we do not quote one.
Is it a gaming projector?
It works well for casual and console gaming. Independent testing measured about 35 ms of input lag at 1080p and 4K/60 in Game mode, which is fine for most titles but not for competitive play. It accepts 1080p at up to 240 Hz.
Is it a 3D projector?
Yes. It supports Blu-ray 3D, side-by-side and top-and-bottom 3D with active shutter glasses (sold separately).
Is it a portable 4K projector?
It is transportable rather than pocketable. At 5.6 kg it ships with an EPP carrying case and has a built-in stand, so it moves between rooms or to the cottage easily, but it is a full-size home projector.
What is in the box?
The MP1 Max projector, an EPP carrying case, the power adapter, a Bluetooth remote, two AAA batteries and the user manual.
What connections does it have?
Two HDMI 2.1 inputs (one with eARC), one USB 2.0 port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Is this the Canadian version with a Canadian warranty?
Yes. Clavia is an authorized Dangbei retailer. This unit ships with the full manufacturer warranty — one year limited — valid in Canada, not a grey-market import.
Will I be charged duties or customs fees?
No. We ship from Canadian warehouses, so there are no cross-border duties or customs charges on your order.
How long does shipping take?
We ship from four Canadian distribution centres that reach 95% of Canadian households. Orders are processed within one to two business days, and typically arrive within two to five business days. Delivery to Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut takes 5 to 10 business days.
