The Dangbei N3 Max is a native 1080p projector with a 180-degree gimbal stand built into its base, which makes it a ceiling projector in the practical sense: tilt it anywhere from -45 to 135 degrees, aim it at the ceiling above the bed or at the wall across the room, and there is no tripod, no mount and no stack of books involved. It is an LED projector with a fully sealed optical engine, and as a 1000 lumen projector (1000 ISO lumens, Dangbei's own rating) the picture holds up with a lamp on in the evening. The sealed light path means no dust settles on the optics over the years: no black spots, no yellowing, nothing to clean.

As a bedroom projector it is the right size and the right kind of quiet. Dangbei rates the fan below 28 dB, the unit weighs 3.6 kg including the stand, and it sits on a nightstand or a shelf. VIDAA OS runs on the projector itself, so this is a projector with Netflix officially licensed and preinstalled, plus YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+ and more than 1,000 other apps. The remote has dedicated Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube and Disney+ buttons and VIDAA Voice search, and Apple AirPlay and screen mirroring from Android or a laptop are built in. No streaming stick, no sideloading.

Setup is InstanPro AI: autofocus, auto keystone, screen fit and obstacle avoidance run every time you power it on or move it, and the image lands squared and sharp anywhere from 60 to 150 inches, at roughly 1.6 m of distance for 60 inches and 3.9 m for 150.

Two 6 W speakers with Dolby Audio carry a movie night on their own; HDMI 2.0 with eARC sends the sound to a soundbar with one cable, and two-way Bluetooth 5.0 pairs headphones or a Bluetooth speaker instead. Two USB 2.0 ports, a 3.5 mm jack and dual-band Wi-Fi 5 cover the rest, and Game mode lowers latency for console play. The MT9660 chip decodes 4K sources down to the native 1080p panel, with HDR10 and HLG supported.

Is this the Canadian version with a Canadian warranty?
Yes. Clavia is an authorized Dangbei retailer. This unit ships with the full one-year manufacturer warranty, valid in Canada, in the box, not a grey-market import.
Will I be charged duties or customs fees?
No. We ship from Canadian warehouses, so there are no cross-border duties or customs charges on your order.
Can I really use it as a ceiling projector?
Yes, that is the point of the stand. The gimbal in the base tilts from -45 to 135 degrees, so the lens can point straight up at a bedroom ceiling with nothing else under it. Keystone and focus re-run automatically when you change the angle.
Is it a good bedroom projector?
It is built for that room: fan noise under 28 dB by Dangbei's rating, a nightstand-sized footprint, and 1000 ISO lumens, which is enough with a bedside lamp on. Blackout curtains still make any projector look better.
Is 1000 lumens enough for a living room?
As a projector for living room use it does fine in the evening or with the blinds drawn. It is not a daytime projector: a sunny room needs three times this brightness, and that is what the MP1 Max is for.
Is it a native 1080p projector or 4K?
The panel is native 1080p (1920 x 1080). The MT9660 chip accepts 4K sources over HDMI and scales them down. Some listings call it a 4K projector because of that input support; the image itself is Full HD.
Is it an LED projector or a laser?
LED, with an LCD panel, inside a fully sealed optical engine. There is no lamp to replace and no dust filter to clean.
Does it have Netflix built in?
Yes. VIDAA OS ships with the officially licensed Netflix app, plus YouTube, Prime Video, Disney+ and over 1,000 others. A Netflix subscription is required, and Netflix does not support VIDAA Voice search.
Is it a smart TV projector, or do I need a streaming stick?
It works like a smart TV on its own: apps, voice search, AirPlay and screen mirroring are all on board. If you prefer a Chromecast or Fire TV Stick, the HDMI 2.0 port takes it.
Is it a quiet projector?
Dangbei rates it below 28 dB. In a quiet bedroom you will hear the fan between scenes, the way you would with any projector in this class; during a movie it disappears.
Is it an affordable projector for a first setup?
At $504.52 it sits between the budget projector tier and the laser 4K units. What you pay for over a $200 model is the sealed engine, the licensed Netflix app, the gimbal stand and a brand that ships firmware updates.
Does it have auto keystone and autofocus?
Yes. InstanPro AI runs autofocus, auto keystone, screen fit and obstacle avoidance at power-on and whenever the unit moves. Manual fine-tuning is available in the menu if you want the last bit of sharpness.
Does it support AirPlay and HDMI ARC?
Both. Apple AirPlay and Android or laptop screen mirroring are built in, and the HDMI 2.0 port carries eARC so a soundbar connects with one cable.
Is it a portable smart projector?
Not in the battery sense. It weighs 3.6 kg, needs a wall outlet and has no battery, so it moves from room to room easily but does not go camping. For a true battery-powered unit look at the Dangbei Freedo.
Can I use it in an apartment or a small room?
Yes. As an indoor projector it needs about 1.6 m of throw for a 60-inch image, so a small bedroom works, and the 3.5 mm jack and Bluetooth let you keep the sound to headphones.
What is in the box?
The N3 Max projector with its integrated stand, a power cord, a Bluetooth remote, two AAA batteries, a quick-start guide and the user manual.
How long does shipping take?
We ship from four Canadian distribution centres that reach 95% of Canadian households. Orders are processed within one to two business days, and typically arrive within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery to Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut takes 5 to 10 business days.
