The Canon PR100-R is a presentation remote for people who speak in front of a room often and want a clicker that answers on the first press. Its red laser pointer runs at 635 nm and under 1 mW, which Canon rates as twice as visible as the 650 nm, 1 mW red pointers found in most budget clickers. On a whiteboard, a fabric screen or a washed-out projection wall, that is the difference you actually notice.

Range is up to 50 feet, roughly 15 metres, over the included USB 2.0 receiver. Canon notes that real-world range depends on the room. Setup is plug and play: no driver, no software, no pairing step. Canon lists three presenter modes, Off, Keynote and PowerPoint, and gives Windows Vista SP2, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 plus Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.11 as the tested systems.

The backlit LCD is what separates this from a plain slide clicker. It shows a countdown timer and the wireless signal strength, and it can trigger a silent vibration alert at a time you set, for example when one minute is left. Power is two AAA batteries, included, so there is no charging cable to pack and no worn-out cell sealed inside the body. Controls: slideshow forward and back, laser pointer, play, lock, power, timer, timer setting, and timer/vibration on-off.

How far does the wireless range reach?
Up to 50 feet, about 15 metres, over the included USB receiver. Canon notes that real range depends on the room.
Does it need software or a driver?
No. The USB receiver is plug and play. Canon lists Windows Vista SP2, 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, and Mac OS X 10.5 to 10.11.
How is it powered?
Two AAA batteries, included. Canon does not publish a battery-life figure for this model, so we do not quote one.
What comes in the box?
The PR100-R presenter, the plug-and-play wireless receiver, a carrying case, a user manual and two AAA batteries.
Is this the Canadian version with a Canadian warranty?
Yes. Clavia is an authorized Canon retailer. This unit ships with the full manufacturer warranty — one year limited — valid in Canada, not a grey-market import.
Will I be charged duties or customs fees?
No. We ship from Canadian warehouses, so there are no cross-border duties or customs charges on your order.
How long does shipping take?
We ship from four Canadian distribution centres that reach 95% of Canadian households. Orders are processed within one to two business days and typically arrive within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery to Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut takes 5 to 10 business days.
Does it work with Google Slides?
Canon lists Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple Keynote only. We do not publish a Google Slides claim that Canon has not made.
Will it work on a current Mac or on Windows 11?
Canon's tested list stops at Mac OS X 10.11 and Windows 10. Anything newer sits outside what Canon has validated, so we will not promise it. Ask us before you order if that matters to you.
What does the screen show?
A backlit LCD with a countdown timer and the wireless signal strength.
Can it warn me without making a sound?
Yes. The timer triggers a silent vibration alert at a time you set, for instance one minute before the end.
What are the controls?
Slideshow forward and back, laser pointer, play, lock, power, timer, timer setting, and a timer/vibration on-off control.
What are the presenter modes?
Off, Keynote and PowerPoint.
What kind of laser is it?
A 635 nm red laser under 1 mW, Class 2. Canon rates it as twice as visible as a standard 650 nm, 1 mW red pointer. Never aim it at anyone's eyes.
What connection does the receiver use?
USB 2.0 on a standard USB-A port. A laptop with USB-C only will need an adapter.
