The Sharp GX-BT190-BK is a portable Bluetooth speaker that floats. That is not a marketing flourish — Sharp built it to sit on the surface instead of sinking, so a knock off the dock costs you a wet sleeve rather than a speaker. As a waterproof Bluetooth speaker it carries a full IP67 rating, which covers dust and complete immersion, not just splashes. At 3 x 3.5 x 3.2 inches and half a pound, it is a compact Bluetooth speaker you throw in a bag without thinking about it.

The battery runs up to 15 hours — a beach day, a campsite afternoon and the drive home on one charge — and refills over USB-C in about two and a half hours. Bluetooth 5.0 pairs in seconds and holds across a backyard. A built-in microphone takes calls without digging your phone out, and six RGB LED modes wrap the grille and sync to the music. It is the kind of feature that sounds like a gimmick until the second drink.

Sound is 5 W RMS with a single passive radiator behind it: clear and bright, which is what carries outdoors where bass disappears anyway. It will not fill a backyard the way the Sharp PS-935 does, and we would rather say so than oversell it. What this one does is travel — a strap loop for a bag or a bike, a shell that shrugs off sand, and true wireless stereo so two of them split left and right across a bigger space. Under fifty dollars puts it in gift territory. It also earns its keep as a mini Bluetooth speaker for the shower, the pool deck or the kayak.

Will it survive being dropped in water?
Yes. It's IP67 waterproof and floats, so it won't sink.
How long does it play?
Up to 15 hours per charge.
Can I pair two for stereo?
Yes. Link two speakers for left/right channel separation.
Does it have lights?
Yes. Six LED modes can sync to your music.
How powerful is it, really?
5 W RMS total, from one driver with a single passive radiator behind it. That is honest output for something this size — clear and bright outdoors, easily loud enough for a picnic table or a shower. It is not a party speaker. If you need volume for a backyard crowd, look at the Sharp PS-935.
Can I take phone calls on it?
Yes. There is a built-in microphone, so it works as a speakerphone once your phone is paired.
How does it charge?
Over USB-C, in about two and a half hours from empty. The cell is a 1,200 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion.
Is there an AUX input or a headphone jack?
No. This model is Bluetooth 5.0 only — no 3.5 mm input, no headphone output. It does play MP3 and WMA files streamed from your phone.
Is this the Canadian version with a Canadian warranty?
Yes. Clavia is an authorized Sharp retailer. This unit ships with the full manufacturer warranty — one year limited — valid in Canada, and warranty service is handled in Canada. It is not a grey-market import.
Will I be charged duties or customs fees?
No. We ship from Canadian warehouses, so there are no cross-border duties or customs charges on your order.
How long does shipping take?
We ship from four Canadian distribution centres that reach 95% of Canadian households. Orders are processed within one to two business days, and typically arrive within two to five business days. Delivery to Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut takes 5 to 10 business days.
