The Sharp HP-60 is an over ear wireless headphone for people who want active noise cancelling without paying flagship money for it. At CA$79.99 it does the two things that matter on a long day: it takes the drone of a cabin, a train car or an open-plan floor down by up to 20 dB, and it keeps playing for up to 33 hours on a single charge.

Noise cancelling you switch on and forget. A dedicated ANC button on the earcup drops ambient noise. Frequency response runs the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz, so nothing is clipped at either end of the range when the cancelling is on. Total output is 7 mW, 3.5 mW per channel.

Battery you stop thinking about. Sharp rates the built-in 600 mAh cell at up to 33 hours of play time — its own spec table lists roughly 32 hours of playback and 30 hours of call time — and a full recharge takes about 2.5 hours over USB-C. Bluetooth V5.0 pairs with iPhone and iPod as well as Android devices through AOA. The built-in microphone handles calls with answer, reject, end and volume controls on the cup, and a multifunction red/blue LED tells you what state you are in. When wireless is not an option, the AUX headphone output takes a cable.

Light enough for a full flight. The HP-60 weighs 8.57 oz (243 g) and measures 6.4 x 7.5 x 3.4 in, so it packs into a carry-on without an argument.

If you have to fly and want to stay quiet, this device pays for itself from your very first flight! Excellent sound quality and effective noise cancellation. The rechargeable batteries lasted all day for a round trip to Florida! Perhaps just a little more comfort in the reclining position would be appreciated.

Honestly, I'm really enjoying the Sharp HP-60 so far. They're super lightweight, the audio is great and clear, and it blocks noise so well. I'm very happy I bought them!

Thank you!
