The Sharp HT-SBW53121 is a Dolby Atmos soundbar with a wireless subwoofer, built in the 3.1.2 layout: three front channels, one sub, and two up-firing drivers that bounce the height layer off your ceiling. Sharp rates the system at 182 W RMS - 102 W from the bar (4 × 18 W plus 2 × 15 W) and 80 W from the subwoofer. It decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X natively over HDMI rather than simulating them.

The bar covers 700 Hz to 20 kHz. Everything below that belongs to the subwoofer, which runs 20 to 700 Hz. The sub is not an add-on for people who like bass, it is half the frequency range of the system. It pairs itself: plug both units in and they find each other, with a manual WLPAIR routine in the menu as a fallback. Keep it in the same room, within 6 m of the bar, a few inches off the wall and out of a cabinet.

Add the HT-SPR52021-BK wireless rear surround speakers and the system goes from 3.1.2 to 5.1.4: two more surround channels and two more height channels, behind the seating instead of in front of it. That is the practical case for a soundbar with rear speakers as an option rather than a sealed one-box system.

The HDMI TV port is eARC/ARC. Two further HDMI ports take a games console or a Blu-ray player and pass the picture straight to the television, putting the bar inside the signal chain instead of beside it. Optical, 3.5 mm AUX, USB and Bluetooth cover the rest. Atmos and DTS:X arrive over HDMI only. Set your TV or source to Pass Through Auto or Bitstream and the bar displays DOLBY ATMOS or DTS:X when it locks on. A high-speed HDMI cable is included.

Six EQ presets: Music, Movie, Voice, Game, Sport and Night, plus Custom with its own bass and treble trim. The 13-key remote takes two AAA batteries, included. The bar arrives on raised feet sized to clear a Sharp EQ or FQ series TV stand; low feet are in the box, and wall brackets if you want it off the furniture. Mounted, keep the top of the bar at least 100 mm below the bottom of the TV and remove the raised feet first.

Does it deliver true Dolby Atmos?
Yes — physical up-firing drivers, not a virtual effect. Atmos and DTS:X arrive over HDMI only. Set your TV or source to Pass Through, Auto or Bitstream, and the bar shows DOLBY ATMOS or DTS:X when it locks on.
Is the subwoofer wireless?
Yes, and it pairs itself — plug both units in and they connect on their own, with a manual WLPAIR routine in the menu as a fallback. Keep it in the same room, within 6 m of the bar, and out of a cabinet.
How much power is it really?
182 W RMS for the system: 102 W from the bar (4 × 18 W + 2 × 15 W) and 80 W from the subwoofer. The 550 W figure is peak, not continuous.
What does the subwoofer cover?
20 to 700 Hz. The bar handles 700 Hz to 20 kHz. They split the range, which is why this bar does not work properly without its sub.
How do I connect it to my TV?
HDMI eARC, and a high-speed HDMI cable is in the box. Optical, 3.5 mm AUX, USB and Bluetooth are alternatives, but Atmos and DTS:X need HDMI.
Can I plug in a console or a Blu-ray player?
Yes. Two HDMI inputs take source devices and pass the picture through to the TV.
Can I make dialogue clearer?
Yes, there is a Voice preset. Six presets in all — Music, Movie, Voice, Game, Sport, Night — plus Custom with its own bass and treble trim.
Can I add rear speakers later?
Yes. The HT-SPR52021-BK wireless rear surrounds take the system from 3.1.2 to 5.1.4. They pair manually through the WLPAIR menu.
Does it turn on with my TV?
Yes, if HDMI-CEC is enabled on the TV. It also drops to standby by itself after 15 minutes without a signal, which you can switch off in the STDBY menu.
What can it play from USB?
MP3, OGG, WAV, FLAC, AAC, AAC+ and ALAC from a drive up to 32 GB. Playback and firmware updates only — it will not charge a phone.
Can I wall mount it?
Yes, brackets and fixings are included. Space the brackets 805 mm apart, drill 5.5–6 mm to at least 32 mm deep, keep the top of the bar at least 100 mm below the bottom of the TV, and take the raised feet off first.
Is this the Canadian version with a Canadian warranty?
Yes. Clavia is an authorized Sharp retailer. This system ships with Sharp's one-year limited warranty, valid in Canada.
Will I be charged duties or customs fees?
No. We ship from Canadian warehouses, so there are no cross-border duties or customs charges on your order.
How long does shipping take?
We ship from four Canadian distribution centres that reach 95% of Canadian households. Orders are processed within one to two business days and typically arrive within 2 to 5 business days. Delivery to Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut takes 5 to 10 business days.

Bought this Sharp soundbar for the living room and it's been great.
It's slim, sits nice under the tv, and feels solid, not cheap and plasticky like some of them.
The sound is way better than the TV speakers. Not even close. Everything's fuller and you can actually hear what people are saying without turning it way up. The wireless sub is a nice touch too and you get real bass.
Setup took no time at all. My daughter plugs her console into the HDMI and streams music off her phone with Bluetooth, no help needed. Money well spent.

First impressions are everything and when you see the box arrive you know it's worth the $650 spent!! I just returned a soundbar for being subpar, this thing is everything but that! It's a Hefty Chonky Boi! You can feel the quality! Once plugged in it's pure eargasm! Atmos, dts x all seem to be working as intended. Easy to set up. The sub just paired automatically.
