About this product

The Sharp HT-SPR52021-BK is a pair of wireless rear speakers for soundbar owners who already run a Sharp Q Series bar. Each cabinet holds two drivers: one aimed at you for surround, one aimed at the ceiling for Dolby Atmos height. The pair adds two surround channels and two height channels, taking a 3.1.2 HT-SBW53121 to 5.1.4. Sharp rates them at 66 W RMS (2 × 18 W surround plus 2 × 15 W height), with a 200 W peak figure on the box.

Sharp's manual lists two compatible soundbars: HT-SBW53121 in black or silver.

Dolby Atmos speakers that immerse you in the heart of the action.

Most Dolby Atmos speakers in a living room sit at the front, inside the bar, so the overhead layer arrives from in front of your face. That works for a jet flying away and much less well for rain or a room tone meant to close in around you. This pair moves two up-firing drivers behind the seating and bounces them off the ceiling. Frequency response runs 100 Hz to 20 kHz. Everything below 100 Hz stays the subwoofer's job, which is how a rear channel should be built.

Wireless means no speaker wire, not no power cord: each speaker needs its own outlet and draws 25 W. Pairing is manual and happens once: hold PAIR on the back of a speaker for three seconds until the indicator flashes, then select WLPAIR in the soundbar menu and wait about five seconds for PAIRED. Sharp asks for at least 50 cm of clearance below the ceiling and at least 1 m between each speaker and where you sit.

Each cabinet is 4.6 by 9.4 by 4.4 inches and stands on a removable plastic stand, so a shelf or side table works out of the box. Wall-mount fixings are included: a 1/4-20 screw into a 17.4 mm hole, and the stand comes off before mounting. If the couch is not sitting 1.5 m from both rears, the soundbar's SPKVOL menu trims each speaker from −5 to +5.

Where should I put them? ›
Behind the seating at roughly ear level, at least 1 m from where you sit. Sharp's calibration assumes about 1.5 m; if your room will not allow that, trim each speaker from −5 to +5 in the SPKVOL menu.
Why do voices sometimes come out of the rear speakers? ›
On 2.0 stereo sources the Dolby and DTS upmixer cannot always place vocals cleanly. Sharp's guidance is to sit at least 1 m from the rears; if it still bothers you, long-press mute on the remote to silence them for that source.

What a product. I last purchased the BOSE surround speakers around 4 years ago. The sound was incredible. Especially when watching action movies. Now my Sharp rear speakers are in the same position and WOW. How impressed am I!! I know Sharp is synonymous with HI FI equipment but this one is really superb. From the build quality to the sound the whole package provides a great immersive experience. The bass is deep and the mid range excellent. I would definitely recommend.

I just received the Sharp HT-SPR52021 Q series rear speakers to go with my HT-SBW53121 soundbar. They're incredibly easy to set up, it's a breeze! My 65-inch Samsung TV recognized them immediately. I love these rear speakers and their 200W peak power, and thanks to their wireless connection, goodbye cables! With upward-firing they project sound by reflecting it off the ceiling for a truly immersive experience. They really complement my soundbar, which is quite long and fits easily under the TV. The sound is clear and precise. The wireless subwoofer enhances the bass and provides powerful sound to complement the surround speakers. After trying all this, I'm sure the kids will join us for family TV experiences!

I had an old panasonic system before wired and although that was great for music at 1000w it was nowhere near as good as this Sharp wireless system, the sharp system you need a plug socket for each speaker but no wires all over room. The sound is like being in the cinema & you are actually hearing the movie around the room. The speakers paired easily with the soundbar. When watching harry potter quidditch game you can hear the snitch wizzing around behind you really immersive experiance. My living room is 15x15ft, and the volume at 6 is more than enough! Would recomend to family and friends.
