The Sharp HP-TW45-BK is a clip-on earbud built for people whose earbuds keep falling out. The hook wraps over the top of your ear and anchors there. Nothing is wedged into the ear canal, so there is no silicone tip to work loose halfway through a run. The driver sits just outside the canal — this is an open-ear design, and Sharp calls the technology air conduction. You hear your music and you still hear the traffic, the coach, the doorbell. If you have been searching for earbuds that don't fall out and you have already returned two or three pairs of in-ears, this is the design that fixes the problem mechanically instead of asking you to hunt for the right tip size.

The IPX4 rating handles sweat and light rain. The ear hook holds through burpees, sprint intervals and the kind of head-shake that ejects most earbuds. On sound, we will be straight with you: an open-ear earbud has no seal in your ear canal, so it cannot hold low frequencies in the way a sealed in-ear does. Sharp rates the HP-TW45 at 20 Hz to 20 kHz with 6 mW total RMS output, and it is tuned for clarity — music, podcasts and call audio all come through clean and stay comfortable for hours. If you want chest-thump bass, buy a sealed in-ear instead. We would rather say that now than take the return later.

Controls are split between the two buds rather than duplicated: play, pause and next track sit on the right, previous track and volume down on the left, and either bud answers or ends a call. There is a built-in microphone and an LED status light. There is no active noise cancellation, and that is deliberate — the whole point of an open-ear earbud is to hear what is around you. Battery runs about 5 hours of playback per charge, and the charging case takes you to roughly 15 hours total. The buds refill in about 1.5 hours, the case in about 2.5. Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C charging, 6.6 g per bud and 37.3 g for the case. Pairs with iPhone and Android without fuss, and it ships with a one-year limited Sharp warranty valid in Canada.

How do they stay on my ears?
A clip-on ear hook wraps over the top of the ear and holds there. Nothing is wedged into the ear canal, which is why they do not work loose the way in-ear buds do.
Are they sweat-resistant?
Yes. The IPX4 rating covers sweat and light splashes. It is not a swimming rating — do not submerge them.
What's the total battery life?
About 5 hours of playback per charge, and the charging case takes you to roughly 15 hours in total. The buds recharge in about 1.5 hours and the case in about 2.5.
How do I control playback?
Touch controls on both buds, split by side. Play, pause and next track are on the right. Previous track and volume down are on the left. Either bud answers or ends a call.
Do they have noise cancelling?
No, and that is on purpose. This is an open-ear design — the driver sits outside your ear canal so you stay aware of traffic, teammates and anyone talking to you. If you want to block the world out, an open-ear earbud is the wrong tool.
How is the bass?
Honest answer: lighter than a sealed in-ear. There is no seal in your ear canal to hold low frequencies in, which is the trade every open-ear earbud makes. Sharp rates the drivers at 20 Hz to 20 kHz and the tuning favours clarity, so voices and podcasts are excellent and music is clean rather than heavy.
Can I use them for calls?
Yes. There is a built-in microphone and about 5.5 hours of talk time. Either bud picks up or hangs up.
Is this the Canadian version with a Canadian warranty?
Yes. Clavia is an authorized Sharp retailer. This unit ships with the full manufacturer warranty — one year limited — valid in Canada, not a grey-market import.
Will I be charged duties or customs fees?
No. We ship from Canadian warehouses, so there are no cross-border duties or customs charges on your order.
How long does shipping take?
We ship from four Canadian distribution centres that reach 95% of Canadian households. Orders are processed within one to two business days, and typically arrive within two to five business days. Delivery to Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut takes 5 to 10 business.
